Women’s Pizza Month

Women in the pizza business
Rose Bagali from John’s Pizzeria in Elmhurst Queens

March is Women’s History Month and that means it’s the PERFECT time to celebrate women in the pizza world! We all know that pizza is a male-dominated business, but there are plenty of incredible women working the dough and running the show. People in the pizza biz know that there’s been a recent push to include more women in coverage and media. There’s even an organization called Women In Pizza that supports women in all angles of the business. You can even check out our interviews with women in the pizza business posted during past years.

Celebrate Women’s Pizza Month by visiting a pizzeria that’s owned, operated, or populated by women who have long gone under-appreciated in the pizza biz! Here’s a list of pizzerias in NYC that are run by women:

Di Fara (Midwood, Brooklyn)
Don Antonio (Theater District, Manhattan)
