Women in Pizza: Jeanette Catena

**In celebration of Women’s History Month, I’ll be posting about women in the pizza community every few days this month. The pizza biz is pretty male-dominated, so let’s take this opportunity to throw the spotlight onto some of the women who are doing amazing work in the pizza world.

Jeanette Catena is the VP of business development of Orlando foods, the exclusive importer of Caputo Flour and Ciao tomatoes in the US. She’s been int he food service industry for 34 years, most recently as an educator and promotor of Neapolitan pizza all over the country. When perspective pizzerias owners call, Jeannette answers.

I first met Jeannette at her restaurant Luna Pizza, a Neapolitan pizzeria she opened with her husband, Frank, 9 years ago. It became a family affair when Jeannette and Frank brought their three daughters into the fold. This place is EXCELLENT – a true gem out in Three Bridges, NJ.

Jeannette talks the talk and totally walks the walk. She’s APN certified and serves as a judge in pizza competitions around the US. She’s even traveled to Naples to make dough for the incredible Pizza Village event. I look forward to seeing her every year at pizza events around NYC and at the International Pizza Expo, which just so happens to be next week!
