Unregular Pizza is celebrating their first birthday and you’re invited! The pizzeria began as a pop-up project run by Gabrielle Lamonaca out of his Harlem apartment. NYC’s restaurant shutdown in March 2020 forced this bored restaurant worker to start making pizza at home. Rather than selling it through Instagram like so many others, he offered it for barter only. Gabriele’s pizza became the most sought-after in NYC. Word caught on and he was able to find a restaurant space near Union Square, which officially opened as Unregular Pizza in May 2021.
To celebrate their 1st birthday, Unregular Pizza is offering a 3 hour window in which customers will be able to barter for their slices. Bring your homemade food, crafts, songs, dance performances… WHATEVER YOU WANT! It’s going to be a celebration of the joy Unregular Pizza has brought to its customers since Gabriele was just making a couple pies a day out of his Harlem apartment. Just be sure to RSVP so the folks at Unregular can keep things organized.
