Lost Forefathers of Pizza in America Discovered
This is incredible. Peter Regas, an independent researcher I met years ago both on a pizza tour in NYC and again a few years later in his hometown of Chicago, has published the findings of his research regarding the early history of pizzeria owners in New York. I’ve been working on the same research along with my colleague Liz Migliore, but based on a conversation we had with Peter yesterday it seems like we were about five years behind him.
Our trail was heating up and we had just stumbled upon some of the names mentioned in the article linked here, but we had yet to make the connections to fill in the blanks. Peter’s research is truly incredible and this article is just a glimpse into the depth of what he’ll have in the book.
Both Peter and Liz will be present at a presentation I’m giving tomorrow that will present some of the information we’ve uncovered. It has been a real thrill to research this subject and I’m delighted that the names that have been lost to time are now getting their due.
