It finally happened, the cover of my book, Viva La Pizza! The Art of the Pizza Box, has become an actual pizza box image!!! 

Here’s the scoop: The book is about the history, technology, and artwork on pizza boxes and contains photos of 112 significant boxes from my Guinness World Record collection. My designer Christopher King agreed that the book should look like a pizza box, so he created this simple, elegant image to pop off the book shelf. It definitely looked like it could have been an actual box image, but it wasn’t until this week that my good friend Barbara brought me back this specimen from Costa Rica. I didn’t even notice at first how much it resembled Christopher’s cover. Then I looked at them side-by-side and it’s clear that the box designer directly copied the book! So cool. I think this is what they call “meta.”
