Even native New Yorkers rarely venture to the city's secluded pizza havens. With the NYC Pizza Bus, you'll taste some of the city's best kept secrets as you learn everything there is to know about America's favorite food.
People always ask me where to find the best pizza in New York but that question is impossible to answer; it's like asking an artist's favorite color. There are too many variables: Do you want a sit-down restaurant? Are you looking for a slice or a whole pie? Does too much cheese make you cringe? How far are you willing to travel?
I used to pile inquisitive minds and tummies into my car for a day of sampling interesting pies but demand has far exceeded my Nissan's capacity. The solution seemed clear: rent a school bus and deliver the people to the pizza! And so the NY Pizza Bus was born.
Each trip visits four of New York's best pizzerias. We'll eat slices from some of the city's oldest brick ovens as well as classic New York slice counters, all while discussing the intricacies of pizza history and culture! The itinerary is ever-changing, as there are far too many worthy destinations to adhere to a single route. The bus always starts in Manhattan but possible destinations include pizzerias in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.I can't wait to take you on a pizza tour!

Specialty Pizza Safaris
There's a lot of great pizza in New York and not all of it fits the classic stereotype. These Specialty Pizza Safaris focus on alternative pizza styles (vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc) that are somewhat elusive. We'll stop at several pizzerias that fit your flavor as we learn about unique pizza preparation from the people who do it every day. Your ticket price includes a slice at each stop and a Pizza Tour Survival Kit to help you analyze the specimens we sample along the way.
Our next adventure takes us on a walk through the Lower East Side and Greenwich Village for stops at three vegan-friendly pizzerias. Each will serve us a different take on animal-free pizza making.
